Chapter History
The Lambda Iota Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha is proud to represent the national fraternity at Vanderbilt. We were installed in the spring of 2012 at Benton Chapel, and are one of nine Panhellenic groups on campus.
Vanderbilt ZTA has since grown into an amazing group of women, dedicated to sisterhood, philanthropy and service to our campus, the Nashville community, and the world. Events including Touchdown for a Cure and Big Man On Campus have helped raise thousands of dollars for the ZTA Foundation and to aid our national philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness.
Sisterhood is such an important part of our chapter's growth and development. Our members experienced trips to an off-campus ropes course and even to the beautiful mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, movie nights, 'Breakfast for Dinner' catered by the famed Loveless Cafe, and more. Being a sister in Vandy Zeta has the most delicious and amazing perks!
Our chapter also has held many exciting social events, including our Winter Semi-Formal: Crown Ball and a Spring Formal: White Violet formal. We also enjoy more casual date parties, with themes like ZZZta, Throwback Thursday, ZTA Watch, and so much more. Our sisters have also enjoyed many swaps and social events with other on-campus fraternities and organizations.
A major portion of our chapter's history stems from our members' involvement in campus in other activities beyond just ZTA. Every single sister is a member in at least one other organization and most hold a leadership position in those organizations as well. Our members have made an impact on Vanderbilt's campus not just as one individual organization, but as a diverse group of women who inspire and change the community beyond the walls of our beautiful new home.
